Panther golfers place 6th at Sulphur Springs

Dunman earns place in tournament's top 10 list

The Quinlan Ford Panther golf team placed sixth out of 15 teams March 20 at the Sulphur Springs Golf Tournament, according to Coach Jim Coker.

Panther team member Chandler Dunman placed seventh for inclusion in the top 10 tanked golfers of all participating schools by hitting an 81.

Quinlan took sixth with a score of 377.

In addition to Dunman's 81, other Panther golfers and scores included David Welch, 98; Kolby McKenzie, 101; Logan Lindsey, 101; and Cason Lane, 105.

In first place was Pittsburg with 345; Mount Vernon, second, 346; Cooper, third, 347; Leonard, fourth, 348; and Sulphur Bluff, fifth, 375.

Behind Quinlan Ford was Commerce in seventh place, also with a 377; North Hopkins, eighth, 386; Tom Bean, ninth, 413; Farmersville, 10th, 414; Campbell, 11th, 438; Chisum, 12th, 453; Honey Grove, 13th, 457; Leonard (B), 14th, 467; and Sulphur Bluff (B), 15th, 499.

The team was scheduled to play the first round of district competition on Monday at Waterview Country Club in Rowlett.
