Lady Panthers dominate Mustangs, lose to Eagles

The Quinlan Frod Lady Panthers took a 51-43 win Tuesday,Nov. 21 over the Waxahachie Life Mustangs, according to Girls AthleticCoordinator-Head Girls Basketball Coach Jason Wallen.


Quinlan outscored Life12-6 in the first quarter and was up28-15 after the second quarter scoring of 16-9. Quinlan scored 11 to Waxahachie’s 12 in the third for a score of Quinlan39, Waxahachie 27.  The Lady Panthersadded 12 in the fourth to the Mustang’s 17.


Ashley Todd popped the net for 28 points to lead Quinlanscoring.  Madison Harrison add AllysenWarden each added 8; Braileigh Deaver, 3; and Ariel Forsyth and Sofia Garcia, 2apiece.


The Lady Panthers lost 35-60 Tuesday night to the CantonEagles.


Quinlan trailed 5-19 after the first quarter, 10-28 athalftime and 23-44 after the third quarter. The Lady Panthers scored 12 to Canton’s 16 in the final quarter.


Forsyth, Todd and Deaver each scored 6 points in the game.Harrison added 5; Jazzmen Beierschmitt and Alexis Zito, 3 apiece; Bree House,Warden and Savannah Minor, 2 each.


The Lady Panthers will participate in the Wills Point Tournamentthis week and will host the Forney Jackrabbits on Dec. 5.



Junior Varsity


The junior varsity Lady Panthers lost 13-48 Tuesday, Nov 21,to Waxahachie Life Mustangs, according to Coach Ashleigh Burns.


Quinlan scored 5 in the first quarter, 4 in the second, and2 in each of the third and fourth quarters. Waxahachie had quarter scores of11, 9, 11 and 12.


McKenna Barnard scored 8 points, and Trinity Hartcontributed 3.


The JV lost Tuesday night 13-48 to the Eagles.


Quinlan was behind 4-7 after the first quarter.  The halftime score was 4-22, and the scoreafter three quarters was 8-31.  Quinlanscored 5 in the final quarter to 17 for Canton.


Kamie Lee was top scorer with 4 points. McKenna Barnardscored 3 points.
