Panthers third at Rains Tourney

The Quinlan Ford Panthers finished in third place Tuesday,Nov. 21, in the Rains Tournament, according to Assistant Coach Matt Wingo.


The Panthers finished the second game Tuesday with a 44-39win over the Rains Wildcats.


Quinlan led 12-7 after the first quarter and scored 10 toRains’ 11 in the second for a halftime score of 22-18.  The Panthers scored 6 in the third period tothe Wildcats’ 7 for a score of Quinlan 28-25. The Panthers finished in the fourth with 16 points to 14 for theWildcats.


Preston House was top Panther scorer with 16 points.  Mark Eastin, also scoring in the doubledigits, added 11 points.


Quinlan lost to the Royse City Bulldogs 49-51 earlierTuesday.


The Panthers trailed 8-19 in the first quarter but came backin the second to switch the exact scoring as the first with 19 to the Bulldogs8 and tie the score for halftime.  The Panthersscored 12 to the Bulldogs’ 15 in the third and put up 10 points in the fourthto the Bulldogs’ 9.


House and Eastin with 14 points apiece and Brenden Cook with13 were top scorers.


The Panthers will play in the Edgewood Tournament Nov. 30through Dec. 2.
